Art in a Changing World

ABOUT US

Kylie Brown is a practising artist and the founder and creator of Nearly Orange, which was funded with help from the Hertfordshire Princes Trust in December 2003. The online gallery  was designed by Kylie Brown and has been up and running since February 2004.

Nearly Orange is a collective of artists from Hertfordshire and London. Online we can reach a wider audience and our aim is to give our audience an insight into the vision of the artists but has now become a global network site for artists to meet and sell.

We believe we are selling an idea when we sell a painting we do not frown upon technique so long as the idea is valid. The mind is a amazing and everyones is so diferent and to have a piece of somones mind on canvas or in any art form is wonderful. People at exhibitions always ask me that mundain questio when they look at my painting which is " What does it mean"  and this question does annoy me especially when you can clearly see what the painting is of so i answer " it means i thought of it and you didnt and its weather you like or your dont" sorted!

At Nearly Orange we support and represent both graduates and self taught artists. It is our belief that art should not be restricted by trends and expectations, nor should it be manipulated by policies or antiquated principles.

Art is a source of free speech and it's freedom is rooted in escaping the corruption of trends, expectations, policies and principles

I beleive art is a social activity when shown to others. I have it in my best interest to promote art within and around me.
Nearly Orange is dedicated  to advance the careers of emerging artists and bring  people closer to art.
